Hello!
Malaysian Student Association (MSA) is a student organization that provides a community for Malaysians studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and promotes Malaysian culture to students, faculty, staff and the greater Madison community.
A large part of what we do is organize cultural celebrations in conjunction with major festivals in Malaysia such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year and Diwali. Other activities include field trips, fun social events and collaborations with other student organizations. The MSA social media group serves as an avenue for members to connect with each other and share information and resources.
We also help incoming Malaysian students during their transition to UW-Madison by offering transportation, temporary accommodation and guidelines on what to expect. In addition, we share information regarding internships and employment opportunities with students, as well as act as a liaison between members and Malaysian governmental and educational departments.
Our goal is not only to support students during their time here, but also to foster relationships with members of the campus community and to encourage intercultural exchanges.
MSA membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students here, even non-Malaysians. University-affiliated individuals, Malaysian families living in the area, and individuals who are interested or have a personal connection to Malaysia are also welcomed to join in our events.
